The Little, Black Bag.

'Black is modest and arrogant at the same time. Black is lazy and easy - but mysterious. But above all black says this: "I don't bother you - you don't bother me".'

Have you ever wondered why camera bags are so unstylish? I always hated travelling to photo shoots and having to walk around with dull camera bags that are far from desirable. So imagine my excitement when the ever so amazing company i. Style got in touch with me asking for a collaboration - oh the excitement!

In case you are unaware of the brand, they focus on cute and stylish camera accessories such as bags and straps. They are made out of Italian leather and have plenty of padding to support your camera too. Like they say, the perfect travel bestie for you and your camera.

Styling A Black Bag

Black bags are a fashion staple and go with everything, but not everything looks great with a black bag. I actually believe that a black bag is harder to style than any other colour, mainly due to its simplistic features. It can easily make an outfit look boring and quite old-ish unless of course, you styled it correctly. For me, a black bag needs to shout quality and be structured. As a student, I am in no position to be able to afford a stunning Celine or Chanel boy bag - why wasn't I born a Millionaire again?- anyway, that doesn't mean you cannot have a good quality bag. Dune, for example, is affordable and has stunning bags, so does Ted Baker too! I love when my black bags have some sort of a detail I can play with in my outfits, especially appreciate gold details.

A black bag will always look great in combination with a leather jacket, one of my favourite combos actually. I also love styling it with an all black outfit or monochrome look,  additionally, I also think that having a colourful outfit with black accessories looks great - just make sure to pick up the colour back somehow in your outfit for a flawless look. What I also like is to combine my black bag with black accessories and shoes, but combine it with plain jeans and white top.

For the shown outfit I decided to let the bag speak for itself and picked a more 'boring' outfit in terms of colours and items. I didn't want a look that would overpower the bag, so I went for a plain bag dress with frill sleeves and combined it with my favourite coat. For a bit of pattern mix, I styled it with, super in trend, embroidery boots and I also did the unimaginable and combined silver with gold; oh my god! Personally, it will always be a huge debate like combing brown and black.

I would love to see how you style your black bag, feel free to comment below with a link to blog posts or maybe tag me in your outfit posts on Instagram?  username is @shelleyannem.
