“New Year - a new chapter, new verse, or just the same old story? Ultimately we write it. The choice is ours.” ― Alex Morritt

Christmas is over and the new year is just around the corner, so I've been taking the time to recap the past year and think about everything I want to achieve in 2017. My resolutions for the new year are a combination of trying to better myself, work hard on my career and definitely do everything I can to improve my health issues.

Career and Blogging Goals

I previously mentioned in a post, Am I A Blogger Yet, that my blog was mainly created as an online portfolio and has since turned into something I could have never expected, but am also super proud off. I, therefore, want to take the chance and see how far I can take this and perhaps turn it into a full-time career - if you are a regular reader, you may have guessed by now that I'm a bit of a dreamer - but if you don't dream big how can you expect big results!?

"If your dreams don't scare you, are they big enough?"

In order to take my blog further, I need to first follow a few resolutions, such as coming up with new and exciting content, stop procrastinating (let's be honest, we all do it) and to stick to my blogging post schedule. I used to post whenever I wanted too, despite knowing that how important it is to have set days. I also tend to be a person who leaves everything to the last minute when I'm busy, emails may take a day or two longer to respond and deadlines start to pile up - But not this year! Hopefully, by having a public post of my resolutions, I might actually be able to stick to it this time.

Bettering Myself

I believe everyone wants to be the best version of themselves and in order for myself to be that I need to love more, stop holding grudges and just live life to the fullest, whilst eliminating the negative self-talk.

"You don't need to be better than anyone else; you just need to be better than you used to be."
We are our own enemies when it comes to living the life we want and are often self-destructive without realising. I can honestly put my hands up to this one and often tell myself that I am not good enough or cannot do things; despite being fully capable of succeeding. Eliminating negative words and trying to think positive is the first start into a healthier mindset that will allow me to better myself and stop me from fearing failure.

2017 is the year of healthiness, or attempt anyway

If you've been following me for a while now, you might be aware of my little hospital stay last year after needing emergency surgery during the holidays. Ever since my health has just been lacking and I get one problem after another, from iron deficiencies to severe stomach issues.

"Time and health are two precious assets that we don't recognise and appreciate until they have been depleted."

It's quite obvious that I can't just wish myself to be healthier, but I can still try to do everything I possibly can to at least feel better. First of all, I am a huge cheese lover but unfortunately, lactose isn't a big fan of me and yet I still eat cheese at every given opportunity - quite stupid really? Secondly, I will need to start excessing more regularly and not just once a week or so to help calm my stomach. Well, the whole iron deficiency thing is really up to the doctor to sort out which are clearly thinking that I'm not in a rush. Oh, how I miss my German GP, no offence to the NHS though.

So, these are my New Years Resolutions. What are yours?
