'Seeing is deceiving, dreaming is believing, It's okay not to be okay.'

We are now a few days into 2017 and everyone I know is still so happy and thrilled about the New Year, yet I feel completely opposite to that and find it quite daunting actually. I mean, 2017 could be the year my career takes off but it could also be the year everything goes wrong or everything might stay the same - I don't know and the uncertainty is actually really scary.

Especially as a blogger and being someone who has their life quite out there, I feel as if I always need to look happy. Like, no one wants to see pictures of me sitting on my bed, with my robe on, eating chocolate all day and watching crappy TV, right? (FYI, I'm a huge catfish fan at the moment, it's so addictive).

But that's exactly how I feel right now. I'm at a
rather awkward stage of life at the moment; my internship ends soon, Uni doesn't start again until October and I don't quite know what to do with myself now. I'm confused and just a tad overwhelmed with life at the moment, but then who isn't from time to time. I know it's okay to not be okay sometimes, but when you feel like the whole world is against you and you don't quite know what to do and where to go, it can be difficult.

New Year, New Me Bulls**it?

For me, a new year doesn't necessarily mean excitement, new beginnings and happiness. I have actually started to hate New Years more than anything, especially after last year's surgery nightmare. I also think that if someone wants to improve themselves, they should do it immediately and not wait until one digit changes in the date. Quite ironic actually considering I wrote a post about my New Years Resolutions last week - which you can find here by the way.

Anyway, all of this must seem very all over the place at the moment but I do have a point to make. Like I said above, why do people feel the need to improve or change just because it's a New Year? So why do I worry so much just because it's no longer 2016, but now 2017?

Anyway again, what I'm trying to say is, it really doesn't matter what day, week or month it is. If you know you need to improve something, do it now and not wait until the clock ticks 12. If you are like me and feel a little bit unsure about the New Year and upcoming months then take some time, think about your options and come up with a valid plan to tackle the uncertainty. No matter what, the year doesn't change anything it's your attitude towards everything that controls you.

I personally am someone who doesn't like uncertainty, I love having a plan for everything and knowing what will happen next. So the next few months will definitely be a challenge for me, but just sitting around and worrying what may or may not happen isn't ideal either.

At the end of the day, this will always keep me occupied anyway.

  3. Gorgeous outfit :) I'm a huge fan of thigh high boots and I still remember your coat from an Instagram photo *full of envy* :)
I know what you're feeling, I've recently been through this, but then I remembered to start listening to Abraham Hicks on Youtube again. Once you use the LOA deliberately, your life is full of miracles everyday :)
