How Bloggers can support each other || peace, not war.

The 'Blogging Twitter World' has turned so toxic over the last few months. From people accusing each other of using bots, going that far to calling other bloggers escorts and just treating each other with such disrespect. What happened to the once so supporting community that helped me grow as a blogger? Instead now I'm afraid to say something wrong, it's like if people are looking for reasons to attack each other. We can't all get along, that's life, what happened to live and let live?

“I want to be around people that do things. I don’t want to be around people anymore that judge or talk about what people do. I want to be around people that dream and support and do things.”

How Bloggers Can Support Each Other:

Stop the jealousy and bitterness.
Some bloggers get amazing opportunities given and yes sometimes it doesn't seem fair, but they have worked hard for it. We all do and we all deserve to get these jobs. Your time will come, be patient and don't turn into a jealous person who hates on everyone - don't be a keyboard warrior or online troll.

If you see someone do an amazing collaboration why not congratulate them instead? Be nice, spread some positivity and encouragement instead of putting them down.

Be kind, encourage and support.
Don't bring others down. Just don't be that person.

Engage with other followers, congratulate them on jobs.
As mentioned above why not be so kind and spread love to those who manage to grab themselves some pretty amazing campaigns. Personally, I am super happy when I see my favourite bloggers work with big brands - like yess, you've made it and I'm so happy to see it!

Those kind of reactions are less these days. Instead, people turn to Twitter and complain as to why someone else got the campaigns and accuse them of ridiculous things. I am so done of having to worry about liking a photo at 2 am because I might get accused of using a bot and that's genuinely how far it has come now. People are ready to attack, regarding real 'proof' or not which can be frightening. This will obviously sound really silly to some, but if you are trying to make a career online anything as 'small' as that can ruin it.

Go that extra mile.
If someone needs help with something go that extra mile. It will pay off - good karma.

Just don't be a dick.
Simple. Just don't a dick.

This may come off super negative, but we us bloggers are slowly ruining our own industry if we continue to attack each other. Brands or agencies wouldn't want to 'buy' into this and jump the step of influencer marketing and continue using old methods. We should stick together and show them how awesome bloggers are, what we can do and how beneficial influencer marketing really is. But for that, we need to be nice, kind and respectful to each other.

  1. A well written post with some excellent suggestions, I think it all stems down to insecurities , too many people think that blogging is a cut throat business and fear that if they share they will lose a slice of the cake.

  5. I think I must have been lucky because I've not experienced anything other than support and help from fellow bloggers and I don't get why some people would be toxic x

  6. Lovely to read encouraging words from the blogging world. It is so sad when I read of upset and utter bitchyness. There is no need for it. Just like the real world, we all have opinions, and they are all different. Doesn't mean we have to find fault in others.
I really like your line of "Just don't be a ****". Excllent advice.

  8. You've said some very sensible things here. If you are a blogger who wants to attract brand collaborations then being a positive and supportive member of the community is going to help you on that road

  11. I totally agree with all of this, there is too much bitterness and not enough support. It's a great thing to see so many woman (and of course men) make a living in an unstable economical times and to create a business from home! We should celebrate that
