Spring Cleaning Your Life: “Ask yourself if what you are doing today is getting your closer to where you want to be tomorrow.” 

The flowers are blooming, the days are longer and it's time for a spring clean. I find it oddly satisfying looking through my draws, makeup boxes and wardrobe to get rid of the unneeded items. But sometimes it's not just your home that needs a spring clean, but your life too - saying bye to negative people and making your dreams come true.

Everyone loves a clean home, the smell of fresh sheets and decluttered rooms. So why not use the same approach for your life?

5 Tips To Spring Clean Your Life: 

1. Be selective with your friends.
Surround yourself with those who bring out the best in you, who motivate and inspire you. Those that add positive value and make you happy. Rethink friendships that only bring negativity to your life.

2. Social Media Detox
I think we all know that we spend far too much time on social media. A small detox here and there can do wonders to your overall well-being.

For example, when it's official date night phones are not allowed not matter. Include some time every week for a few hours in which you will turn your phone off. Read a book, cook something or go for a walk. 

3. Eat Clean and exercise more
Sometimes eating loads of fast and processed food can impact your life quite badly. It not only makes you put weight on, but it's anything but nutritional. Having fast food every so often is okay, but it shouldn't be a daily habit.

Regular exercise is just as healthy as good eating. I personally love the feeling after a good workout and always feel so energised. FYI, going on a Monday will make you feel super motivated for the week. 

4. Try something new
We are all caught up in our daily routines and often forget to live a little bit sometimes. Wanted to try some new food? Make some time this weekend or book your next holiday to a new destination. Or start small, by doing you grocery shopping at a different store. A few changes can do a lot to a person's mood. 

5. Don't take on too much - it's okay to say no too
We all do it. We say no and then struggle with time, forget to eat or rush our tasks. Saying no is hard, but it gets easier after a while. Say yes to the things that motivate you and make you happy. No to anything else that doesn't add any value or makes you unhappy. We are only human and there is only so much one person can take upon themselves.

I think the tip that resonates most with me is about breaking out of routines, I think it's so easy to get so focused on fulfilling the day to day that we forget to set aside time for the things that give us joy, and also to plan those little treats that lift us out of the routine - for me that's mostly travelling, though this last year I've also taken up pottery.

  10. A detox/big clean is so important in all aspects of your life. I have already gutted my room, but now I am trying to detox my brain of any negative thoughts! Lovely photos as always xx
