Why the Hallmark Queens Hotel in Chester should be your next staycation.

Planning a staycation? This is why you should pick the Hallmark Queens Hotel in Chester

Discovering new cities in your own country can be just as fun as going abroad sometimes. For once I treated the boyfriend to a little stay and we headed to Chester for a night to unwind from our busy Uni schedule and have some time for us. The Hallmark Queens Hotel is ideally located just outside the Train station which makes it very easy for people like me who have a suitcase for a one-night stay. Additionally, the town centre and a current Christmas market are just a few minutes away.Little Tip, you can walk past the canal to get to the town centre which makes for a romantic little stroll.

The Executive Kings Suite at the Hallmark Queens Hotel

My boyfriend’s surname is King, but that’s not the only reason why he deserves the best so I opted for the King’s Suite which is just stunning. The suite was luxurious, spacious, elegant and reflected the Victorian heritage. The eye for detail is exceptional, everything is in red tones with golden detail and a bed as soft as clouds. The bathroom was worthy of the Queen and definitely the highlight of the room; with a tub big enough for 2 and a shower the size of my uni room.Despite the luxurious look, the room is equipped with all the important appliances from a satellite TV, iron, free Wi-Fi and climate controlled air conditioning. Additionally, on arrival, you will find free bottled water on your table and hot drinks with biscuits (you had me at bottled water, haha). But room service is available too and that from 10pm-10am for the late night snackers as well – amazing, right?? Pizza or naked dogs in bed, watching TV and snuggled in the biggest bed I have ever slept in – what a dream!

Kings Grill at the Hallmark Queens Hotel in Chester

Toby is such a foodie and loves his steak, so it comes as no surprise that he couldn’t hold back on the compliments after trying it (He also mentioned that its the best steak he’s ever tried). The music was beautiful and in combination with the soft atmosphere, it delivered a romantic setting which was perfect for our little date night. After a meal at the Kings Grill, you will quickly realise why they pride themselves on their award-winning food because it’s much more than your average hotel food.

Additionally, the Hallmark Queens Hotel also has another bar called the Waiting room with the longest Cocktail list in Chester and yet another delicious food menu.

The Interior

One word: Mesmerizing. It’s hard to put down to words what the interior makes you feel or think. I was speechless walking through the door seeing the reception desk, accompanied by beautiful marble floor and a Christmas tree prettier than you could ever imagine. At every corner, you will find another spot that makes you think WOW. Just the walk to our room was more special than I could ever imagine; on the left, you find old Roman statues and on your right, you have a lovely look onto one of their gardens.

If you are planning a staycation this year consider the Hallmark Queens Hotel in Chester; the location makes it easily accessible, it has a wonderful Christmas Market and the hotel itself is more than just perfect and makes me want to plan another trip there!
